About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) working in downtown Portland, ME. I am licensed to practice mental health counseling in the state of Maine by the Board of Counseling Professionals. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and subscribe to the ACA code of Ethics.
I completed my clinical internship with the Gestalt-Experiential Therapy of Maine (GETME) learning about experiential and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) with individuals and couples, and I continue to receive consultation and training from GETME in these ways of working. I have completed basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy through EMDR Advanced Training and Distance Learning and receive ongoing professional consultation in this modality. I have studied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders with the Beck Institute.
Before and alongside working in my practice, I have worked as a counselor at Maine College of Art (MECA), and in helping roles including Personal Care Attendant for people with disabilities, Crisis Stabilization Counselor, Caseworker, and volunteer with the Trevor Project.
I have a strong interest in other people and a deep commitment to this work which I find immensely meaningful, exciting, and worthwhile.
